The Queens Borough President Melinda Katz invites you to the next Parent Advisory Board meeting on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 6:00pm at Queens Borough Hall located at 120-55 Queens Boulevard, Kew Gardens, NY 11424 Conference Room 213. All parents and educators are invited to attend this informative meeting.
We will have the President of the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) Michael Mulgrew as our guest speaker. The United Federation of Teachers (UFT) represents teachers in the New York City public schools. Mr. Mulgrew will speak on several important issues related to education. Topics that are expected to be covered include the recent changes to the Common Core and how this will affect students and teachers, teacher and student evaluations, parent involvement, efforts to improve innovation and academic achievement, new disciplinary actions, Community Learning Schools Initiative, class size matters and teacher training.
The Parent Advisory Board meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss current concerns and future objectives with regards to teachers and education and you will have an opportunity to ask questions during the Q and A.
