8th Grade Class Rings

Dear Grade Eight Students and Parents,

We are very happy to announce that the Senior Class Rings for the Class of 2019 are ready to be ordered.

Go ahead….you know you deserve it!

The Ring Company will be here:

Wednesday, October 17, 2018 (Period 1) to measure the students and take all orders.

The cost of these beautiful Sterling Silver rings complete with stone and one name engraved is only $50.00.

Boys will receive the Large ring and girls will have a choice of the Petite, Swirl or Heart ring. No names can be engraved in the Heart ring, only initials.

All payments are due on this day.

Cash or Money Orders payable to Smooth Sportswear only.

Rings will be delivered approximately 12 weeks later.

The high school process has begun.  We have some important dates for you.  They are as follows:

Tuesday, September 18, 2018-Parent High School Application Workshop with Mr. Armstrong- 9 AM- 10 AM

Thursday, September 20, 2018-Back to School Night-5:00 PM – 8:00 PM- PERIOD 6-Question and Answer Session with Mr. Armstrong-Auditorium

Monday, September 24, 2018-PTA Meeting- 7:00 PM- Guest Speaker: Ms. Myrna Lewis-Guidance Counselor-Office of School Enrollment.  Ms. Lewis will discuss the High School Application Process- Parents and students are welcome.

8th Grade Updates

Dear Parents/Guardians of 8th Graders,

Below are a few reminders/updates:

Washington, DC Trip:

The Washington, DC trip is on May 16-18.  Please remind your child to pack appropriate clothing and items for the trip.  Students should report to the school at 6:30am on Wednesday.  Please do not park in front of the school building.

ARISTA Candidates:

Students that met the academic requirements for ARISTA were given invitation letters stating that their service record was due on May 11. We will extend it to this Monday, May 14.  The ceremony is on May 31 at 9am.

Awards Night:

Students that were recommended by the 8th grade teachers to receive an award were giving invitations this week to attend the ceremony on Wednesday, June 6 at 6:30pm.  Please return the slip by June 1 confirming if you will be attending.

Spanish Proficiency Prep Classes – 8th Grade

MS67 will offer a series of three Spanish Proficiency prep classes which will take place after school from 2:25 PM – 3:25 PM on

  • Thursday, May 10th;
  • Wednesday, May 30th; and
  • Friday, June 1st .

Each class will focus on a different aspect of the Spanish Proficiency Exam that will take place on Monday, June 18th.

A signed permission slip, linked HERE, is required to attend.

8th Grade Night of the Arts

Please click HERE for letter from school regarding the 8th Grade Night of the Arts celebration on Thursday, May 24th at 7pm.

For ticket sales for this event, the school will be piloting a new system called TicketLeap in which you will be able to purchase your tickets online HERE. Your ticket bar codes will be scanned at the door and you will be able to choose your seats. The price will be $4.00 each (plus a $1.20 website surcharge). At the door, the tickets will be $6.00 and only cash will be accepted.

8th Grade Reminders

  • Return your HS Application Address letter ASAP to ensure your child’s HS acceptance letter is sent to the correct location – letter can be found HERE.
  • Wash DC Trip Rooming List is due March 5. The parent/guardian of each child must sign the same form.
  • Wash DC Trip Remaining Balance is due March 12.
  • Senior Dues ($137) letters will be going home later this week.
